Malaysian Wood – Timeless Living
Malaysian Wood: Timeless Living is the culmination of a three-year effort of collecting photographs and researching buildings and the interior that have used Malaysian timbers.
The publication covered-notable projects in the Malaysian states of Kelantan, Malacca, Penang and Terengganu as well as the heavenly islands of Langkawi, Pangkor Laut and Tioman.
Many of the spectacular buildings whose images featured in this book have stood the test of time. A few of these projects use wood in completely fresh ways - while others fall back on traditional designs and applications. There are also visuals which showcase cultural influence and the impeccable taste of its designers.
And yet, despite the hundreds of wood-based structures and interiors featured, there are thousands more to be discovered, or about to be constructed out there. The reason: wood is a highly desirable material because it is beautiful, natural and it lends a distinctive touch to everything.
Wood also has an emotive dimension that appeals to man. The images of wood-based structures and interiors featured in this book clearly demonstrate that wood represents the essence of timeless living unrivaled by any other material.
