Isella Sofa Design Sdn Bhd (Semenyih, Malaysia) has been involved in the furniture industry for more than 20 years. Isella Sofa, which was set up in 1997, produces leather upholstered furniture such as sofa lounge and dining chairs for exports mainly to Australia, USA, Europe, India and Southeast Asia. Over these years they were grown to be a sizable player in this field, manufacturing their own designs in our 130,000 square feet factory and warehousing premises.

Isella Sofa successfully underwent the Malaysian Timber Council’s Factory Transformation Programme (FTP) under the LEAN Management module in 2021 where the company’s operations improved by leaps and bounds.

It had reduced the number of workers while steadily increasing Isella Sofa’s annual turnover, proving just how effective the FTP has been

“We had very little training on how to manage a workplace. This was one of our challenges. MTC’s LEAN Management programme has helped us tremendously. With FTP, we learned various methods and we are applying these tools in our day-today work and have started building a strong foundation from it,” said Ms. Er. “From the simplest task to tidiness of the work area, we have now set a standard.
